Hip Hop Chef “Cookin’ Tye”

Hip-Hop Chef® “Cookin’ Tye” has found his niche in the Hip-Hop entertainment industry by catering to celebrities, and he is one of the most unique chef’s around. He had a humble start helping his grandmother with chores in the kitchen to stay out of the streets. As a youth, “Cookin’ Tye” could not ignore the lure of the streets, his grandmother’s lesson were deeply instilled in him. Later in his budding career, he was a chef apprentice to the Executive Chef Jonah Brandon at the Double Tree Hotel which gave him a fast start to his career. He had the pleasure to cook for Biggie Smalls, Tupac and LL Cool J throughout his tenure there.
Doors quickly began to open after he was hired by Kevin Liles, former President of Def Jams and former Vice-President of Warner Music Group as Def James official caterer. Under Liles, “Cookin’ Tye” was able to cater and network at various VIP events hosted by Def Jams. “Cookin’ Tye” start separating himself even more from other chefs with his signature dishes, such as Microphone Check Mac & Cheese, Money Hungry Collard Greens and many more extravagant names. He was later endorsed by iconic figures such as Russell Simmons, Afrika Bambaataa, Zulu Nation, Grandmaster Flash, KRS1, Frank Ski, Busy Bee, Dougie Fresh, DJ Loda, Yoda X, Roxanne Shante and Big Daddy Kane. He provided services at various events, such as those hosted by Atlantic Records, Russell Simmons Music Group, BET Hip-Hop Awards, V-103 Radio Station and the Ricky Smiley Morning Show. Various individuals that Chef has had the privilege to cook for include Bun B., Paul Wall, Young Jeezy, TI, Carmello Anthony, Vivica A. Fox, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, LL Cool J and Anthony Anderson.
